See what others are saying about us!
In August of 2014, our basement flooded and Tony from Capital Property Recovery came out within one hour of contacting him. This was after having been told by ServPro that I’d have to wait for up to 48 hours. Tony was also able to get a plumbing company to install a new sump pump to replace our broken one, also within one hour of calling. Tony worked with our insurance and was awesome. He also helped another family in my development who had two feet of water in their basement. Thumbs Up to Capital Property Recovery!!!
Having never been through a water damage experience, I was very pleased with the timeliness of Capital Property Recovery’s response and explanation of what needed to be done. Tony was extremely patient with me and worked hard to accommodate my schedule. He always called or texted me outside of normal business hours and on weekends to ensure that things were moving along as necessary. Tony was a terrific resource in terms of his understanding of how this whole process works with insurance claims, etc. I highly recommend this company and I am thrilled that they are a great business close to my home.

10 Essential Facts to Understand Before Submitting an Insurance Claim
Preferred Vendor Relationship with Insurance Companies: If you choose the insurance company’s preferred vendor, remember that they are obligated to work for the insurance company’s interests, not yours and your family’s. This is a given.
Hiring a Contractor on Your Own: Even if you independently hire a contractor who is a preferred vendor for the insurance company, they will still be beholden to the insurance company. This is because they must follow the preferred vendor agreement they’ve signed with the insurance company.
Responsibility for Plumbing Issues: Should you experience a plumbing problem leading to flooding or water damage, you must pay for the plumbing repair. However, the insurance company must cover the costs to restore your property to its “pre-loss” condition.
Battles Over Costs: Expect resistance from your insurance company on the costs to correctly dry and repair your property.
Insurance as a Business: Like any other company, your insurance provider operates to make a profit.
Denial of “Mold” by Some Insurers: Certain insurance firms may not even recognize the term “mold.”
Adjuster’s Visit for Small Losses: If the loss is not substantial, an adjuster might not visit your home. This emphasizes the importance of who you hire for flood, fire, or mold remediation.
Insurance Industry’s Influence: Ranked second only to the pharmaceutical industry, the insurance sector is a significant player in the lobbying arena.
